There is a market each Friday in the nearest town Sarteano (12 mins). There is an excellent very large supermarket (PAM) as you come off the motorway at Chiusi to drive to the house.

What a great house in a fantastic location. The "views" here are S T U N N I N G. Every moment you look over the valley you imagine yourself in some romantic stylish Italian movie where you may be part of. And that in combination with the wonderful house, all the nice places inside and outside, the luxury that is present, but also the heart and character. We and our children enjoyed the extensive collection of VINYL records. The long infinity pool was one of the most delightful I have ever encountered on vacation. Did we want to leave this fantastic place for a while ? You took such good care of us! Many nice restaurants nearby. Action: with a Vespa scootering through the Tuscan valleys or boat on the lake to cool off. Or Italian wines to taste directly from the wine growers....The medieval villages also appeal to the imagination. As if at the time they styled the color of the houses to match the color of the cornfields. We are very happy that we were able to discover this part of Italy from this spot. Here you just feel: "La vita è bella".Highly recommended !

Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We had a vision of where we wanted to stay during our time in Tuscany and your place far exceeded all of our (high) expectations. The spectacular views alone were worth the price of admission, but it was also so nice to stay somewhere that was so well outfitted and thought through: the decor, the many different seating areas, the pool, the books, the kitchen, the fireplace, the music, the games, the cleanliness, the tasteful movie collection (which we didn’t have time to indulge) etc. Rarely when you vacation do you get to stay somewhere with so much character where you can feel not only a vision being fulfilled but also a place that has so much history, thoughtful attention to detail and love within it's walls. It provided us a great home base to relax, unwind and appreciate the quiet natural surroundings. It is truly a unique and special place that we adored.
We all agreed that among the (few) places we've seen in Italy so far, it's Tuscany (and Val D'Orcia) that we've connected with most. With that said, we hope to return one day (maybe soon) to the villa (if you'll have us, of course!). It will be at the top of the list as a place we we’d would return to in a heartbeat.

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful stay we had in your beautiful villa. Your managers were so welcoming and really put themselves out to help us with everything we needed and gave us some great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. However we loved the villa so much that in the end we didn’t travel too far, and decided early on that we would prefer just to explore the Val d’Orcia (and so didn’t make it to Siena - we had had 3 nights in Florence on the way down so felt that we had seen enough Renaissance art for a lifetime!!)
The villa is so well equipped and really feels like a home from home, so we had a lot of fun playing table tennis, cooking Italian meals and baking bread etc as well as exploring your extensive and eclectic book and record collections (there can’t be too many bookshelves that are adorned with Dante, Somerset Maugham and Sven Hassell!). And in particular I enjoyed reading the War in Val d’Orcia as well as the biography you have on Iris Origo, and it certainly added to the interest of visiting La Foce and the wonderful woods above it at La Fagetta and the Pietraporciana nature reserve, which we visited one evening and were magical.
But our happiest moments were spent lounging round the villa, revelling in the silence and tranquillity, enjoying our visits from the resident hoopoe and of course watching the wonderful sunsets from your new seating area.
So thank you for the special time we had there.

Your hosts were super friendly and predisposed to help and advise us. The home is located in a beautiful place, surrounded by fields and view at sunset, it is comfortable, excellently equipped has the most beautiful pool in the area! A paradisiacal place designed to rest and enjoy Tuscany. The house is beautiful, more than in the pictures and that was an amazing surprise for us. We loved the decoration, the details everywhere and the spectacular pool where birds come to every afternoon. The terrace overlooking the valley and the full sunset view. Everything was perfect!

Our stay at this villa in Toscana was truly an unforgettable experience. It felt like a dream come true to spend a weekend in a 6-century-old villa surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, especially during the sunsets and glasses of Brunello) The villa itself was nothing short of incredible with rooms adorned with antique and cozy furniture, it felt like stepping back in time while enjoying comforts. The spaciousness of the house made it perfect for a long stay. One of the highlights was the amazing dining table on the terrace, where we enjoyed our meals while taking in the stunning views. The endless pool was a blessing to spend time swimming & sunbathing. I must mention the friendly and responsive hosts, who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Their warm welcome, guidance on using the villa, and the thoughtful gesture of gifting us a bottle of Prosecco and local delicacies added a personal touch to our stay. This experience exceeded all our expectations!!!!

We have nothing but praise for our week at this most beautiful villa. I stayed with my husband, my 1 year old and my parents-in-law and we had the best time. The house is beautifully designed with a traditional Tuscan feel but modern amenities. The views and pool are just out of this world. Like a dream. Robin the host was incredibly helpful and responsive dealing with my many questions leading up to our stay. The property managers were amazing. Meeting us prior to the property to lead the way to make sure we found it okay and a tour upon check in with a glass of Prosecco. They were also so helpful and able to offer many recommendations. They helped us arrange a chef to come cook for us a couple of nights and also teach us to make pasta. A great option to have especially with a baby. There is a fabulous record collection which we seriously made use of too. Don’t think, just book! I couldn’t recommend more and if AUS wasn’t so far we’d be back multiple times a year!
